"A long-time favourite with Hong Kong residents, recent renovations have greatly brightened up this family-run hotel that provides a peaceful retreat."
"This small, family-owned gem... with views of the sea, is a great place for couples and families in search of a reasonably priced isolated retreat." Full review
Star
"Great scenery, if a somewhat remote location, situated by Cheoc Van beach on Coloane’s far south shore."
"Makes the most of its quiet, natural setting. There are ample opportunities for kayaking, hiking, and swimming." Full review
"This 30-room hotel with its Portuguese-style rooms... is great value, though some rooms are better maintained than others. And the location above Cheoc Van beach is about as chilled as you’ll find." Full review
7.0
"The polar opposite of the glitzy malarkey that characterises many of Macau’s larger hotels, Pousada de Coloane is a characterful boutique hotel whose USP is large doses of peace and tranquillity." Full review
"Pousada de Coloane is set just back from Cheoc Van Beach on the south of Coloane Island—which is fused to Taipa Island and attached to the Macau Peninsula proper by bridge." Full review
"This newly renovated Portuguese-stye inn, surrounded by forests and near the black-sand shores of Choec-Van Beach, is a welcome contrast to Macau's glitzy casino hotels." Full review
"Set in a former manor house on quiet Cheoc-Van Beach, at the southernmost tip of Coloane, this pousada makes the most of its quiet, natural setting and 1930s architecture" Full review

"Perched in a relatively isolated position...on the side of Guia Hill, home to an old Portuguese fortress and lighthouse, the busy little Hotel Guia is a good value option with plenty of character."
"This is one of Macau's more secluded inexpensively priced hotels...Spotless rooms range from those facing inland to those with little balconies facing the distant sea." Full review

By far the best are those with a view of Guia Lighthouse and the harbor in the background -- request a room with a balcony on the highest (fifth) floor, where you also have a ringside view of the annual Grand Prix.
Mid-Range
"The 90-room Guia Hotel is a mid-range, small-scale alternative to the many mega-hotels in the area." Full review
