"We're not talking unbridled opulence, but in a city where reasonable midrange places can be hard to find this is a good bet... Within an easy walk of all the major sights, the casino and the ferry." Full review
"Between the Macau Ferry Terminal and downtown (only a 10-min. walk away)... Caters largely to gamblers and tour groups, especially because of its on-site casino." Full review

Steer clear of the standard rooms, which are on lower floors and face another building.

"This is one of Macau's more secluded inexpensively priced hotels...Spotless rooms range from those facing inland to those with little balconies facing the distant sea." Full review

By far the best are those with a view of Guia Lighthouse and the harbor in the background -- request a room with a balcony on the highest (fifth) floor, where you also have a ringside view of the annual Grand Prix.
Mid-Range
"The 90-room Guia Hotel is a mid-range, small-scale alternative to the many mega-hotels in the area." Full review
