“A quirky yet elegantly decorated space – think deer heads with broken crockery and contemporary art – showcases the art and culinary creations of Jacques Erasmus.”
– Lonely Planet

"Super-stylish Hemelhuijs is both a showcase for a range of exquisite ceramicware and fanciful lighting, and a centrally located restaurant serving equally fanciful and exquisite food." Full review

"Chef Jacques Erasmus combines seasonal and classic ingredients like salmon with daikon radish at this chic daytime bistro." Full review
The Infatuation
"Like stepping into a coffee table book about Nordic interior design, and by that we mean that everything is incredibly beautiful and tastefully placed, and the food is as delicious as it is pretty." Full review
Condé Nast Traveler
"Rather than a restaurant, this feels more like stepping into an exquisitely curated flower shop or a ceramics studio. The interior is an inspiring foil to the food, both evolving with the seasons." Full review

Don’t miss the salads (big enough to be a meal themselves), like garden peas with ruby grapefruit or avocado and crisp fried soft-shell crab. If the salad's not enough there are mains like pan-fried veal with lemon, pine nuts, Parmesan and parsley or the breakfast waygu burger topped with tomato relish and a poached egg.
